Harish K. Malhotra, M.D.

BIO

Harish K. Malhotra, M.D. received his medical degree from Amritsar Medical College in India.

Dr. Malhotra completed three years of psychiatric residency training at The University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey, where he is now a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has published over 37 articles for the medical and scientific community and 25 audiocassettes for the lay public.

Dr. Malhotra is in full time private practice in Summit, NJ. He has full attending privileges Overlook Hospital, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry from 1998-2002.

Dr. Malhotra practices Adult Psychiatry (including Geriatric) with an eclectic approach, drawing from Behaviorism, Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Psychopharmacological orientations. Dr. Malhotra treats all psychiatric illnesses, from mild to very severe cases.

Dr. Malhotra is happily married to Dr. Mahamaya Malhotra, who is also a board certified psychiatrist. They have two wonderful sons and a new daughter-in-law. He is fond of collecting ancient coins from India.
